Your arrival
We suggest that you arrive one week before the start of you course. This will allow you to recover from your journey and settle into your accommodation. In addition, it will allow us to show your new city within a new culture.
You should have your passport, VISA, tickets, enrolment and accommodation documents from EDC with you as you go through immigration in the airport. You must be clear, and know where you are going in the UK, which course you are studying and how long you will be at EDC. This will assist you to enter smoothly into the UK. However, when you entering the UK your visa is stamped with the words "Register with UK police on arrival" this must be done shortly after arrival. Staff at the College will help you to do this.
Student must arrive in the UK for their studies within the time allowance stated on the College admission letters, specifically the CAS. The student coming from overseas must register with the College within 10 days of their arrival date in the UK. Under exceptional circumstances e.g. if you become ill, you must inform the College by telephone or email. Those students who have not registered within 10 days of their arrival date will be suspended and a notification will be sent to UKBA. No fees refund will be granted.
At time registration, all original documents including passport, academic and experiences documents, two passport size photo required.
Airport pick-up
If you wish to be picked up from Birmingham airport you must let us know of your arrival date and time at least 2 weeks before you arrive. This is to ensure that the College can make suitable arrangements for your pick up.
A College representative will be waiting for you in the airport arrivals halls holding an Education Development College sign. If you cannot find the representative, go to the airport information desk and ask the staff there to make an announcement giving your name and the name of the College.
